A Conveyor Belt Technician is a critical role within Belterra, and within the entire conveyor belting industry. A Conveyor Belt Technician’s primary duties involve installing, maintaining, and repairing conveyor belts and components at various customer sites that require conveyor belt systems to keep their operations running smoothly.
If you like to take problems head-on, deliver remarkable solutions, and see the direct effects of your work, consider joining the Belterra team!
At Belterra, we pride ourselves on being able to deliver outstanding service efficiently and safely. And we can’t do that without ensuring our workers receive the best training for the job. This is why we developed the Belterra Conveyor Belt Technician Apprenticeship Program—the first training program of its kind in Canada . All of our Conveyor Belt Technicians receive both in-class and on-the-job training through this comprehensive 4-year program that takes them from understanding the basics of a conveyor system to being able to lead the most complicated installation jobs on site.
The Apprenticeship Program is a standardized, company-wide internal certification system for our Conveyor Belt Technician workforce. Employees who successfully graduate from the program will receive a certificate declaring their status as Journeyman Conveyor Belt Technicians and receive the Journeyman wage set by their local Belterra branch.
The program provides a systematic structure to train, develop, and empower one of our most important assets – our service employees.
The program is a 4-year program with each year being one level. An Apprentice is expected to gain progressive knowledge and skills throughout Year 1 to Year 4, until they’re deemed to be fully trained as a Journeyman Conveyor Belt Technician.
Every Apprentice will receive the following as part of the Apprenticeship Program:
